IN-TOWN

Division 6 is an in-town program for children in first and second grade. The primary objective is to teach players basic soccer skills in a fun, non-competitive way. We strive to ensure that children have a positive experience regardless of their ability. All teams are separated by grade and gender.
Professional trainers conduct weekday practices once per week, and oversee the first three weeks of games on Saturdays. Parent coaches then guide their players on game days for the rest of the season. All games are played on Saturdays.
This program is also designed to invite parents who are new to soccer to become coaches for the first time. Parents who volunteer to coach do not need any prior experience or knowledge of soccer. With about 500 children participating in this division each year we need lots of help to keep it running.
We encourage parents to volunteer! The commitment is not significant as the sessions are only one hour per week. Each team is assigned several coaches so that schedule conflicts are not a problem. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the number of mothers who coach and we encourage all mothers, as well as fathers, to actively participate in our programs and share time with their children.
Moms and Dads: Please volunteer to coach!
All players in the first and second grade program will receive an RSA t-shirt. First-graders will also receive a soccer ball. Soccer cleats (molded plastic or rubber studs only – no football/baseball style cleats) are helpful but not required. Shin guards are mandatory.
Around Labor Day, parents are notified by their child’s coach and provided a schedule for the season. Please check our website for updates.
