Division 4 (Grades 5 & 6)

TRAVEL

The traveling programs are fun, recreation programs for 5th and 6th graders. Teams participate in 11v11 (full-sided, full-field) games as part of the Northwest Bergen Soccer Association. Most away games are just a short drive to the towns surrounding Ridgewood. The farthest games are no more than 20 minutes away. Division 4 players must be age 10 or 11 as of August 1. Girls play on Saturday mornings and boys play on Sunday afternoons.

Practices may be scheduled by the coach, but most traveling teams begin practices in August. Teams usually have one or more practices per week once the season begins. Additional clinics with professional trainers are also offered. The purpose of these clinics is to build awareness of space and positioning on a full-sized field, develop team strategies, and continue building individual skills.

Players receive a shirt, shorts, and socks. Soccer shoes (molded plastic or rubber cleats only – no football/baseball cleats) and shin guards are mandatory.

All players and coaches on traveling teams must mail a photo after registering so player passes can be created. Players will not be permitted to play unless a photo is received by June 30.

Please write the player’s name and division on the back of the photo and mail to:
Ridgewood Soccer Association
PO Box 117
Ridgewood, NJ 07451

Players will be notified of team assignments during the summer.
