Youth Referees

Ridgewood Soccer Association offers students in middle school and high school the chance to officiate In-Town Division 5 & 6 rec games. Students in grades 7 -12 who have played at least one year of travel soccer (RSA, Maroons or other program with licensed referees) are eligible. If you meet these requirements, please have a parent register you to be a referee using your family’s Community Pass account.

Referees must attend a pre-season training session (to be held in early September), and train as an assistant referee for at least one game. After training is complete, referees will be paid for each game they officiate. Youth refs will receive an RSA referee shirt and whistle.

All referees are required to arrive 10 minutes early to games so that players can be inspected prior to kickoff (i.e. shin guards, soccer cleats, no jewelry, etc.). Referees must come prepared each week with their shirt, whistle and wristwatch.

Please feel free to contact RSA via e-mail with any questions regarding referee programs at registrar@ridgewoodsoccer.org.
